Biography

Dyana Bovolo is an Italian mezzosoprano. She was born in Lecco and began as a child to sing in the Accademia Santa Cecilia of her hometown, then in the choir Cantate Domino, and later in the choir of her university. She completed her classical studies and then graduated with honors from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Milan, and approached the study of opera singing thanks to the tenor Carlo Bergonzi, who recognized her vocal qualities and encouraged her to continue.

She studied privately with the soprano Paula Keller Scalera, and then entered the C. Abbado Civic School of Music in Milan under the guidance of the mezzosoprano Ilia Aramayo, and later of the baritone Roberto Coviello.

Since 2017 she has been training in vocal technique and repertoire with Rome based soprano Erika Pagan.

 

Dyana has received numerous awards in international opera competitions including the 74th Concorso per giovani cantanti lirici “Comunità europea” organized by the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale “A. Belli” of Spoleto, and the sacred music competition “San Colombano”.

Dyana debuted with the role of Cherubino in "Le nozze di Figaro" by W.A.Mozart, which she interpreted in the Teatro della Società of Lecco, in the Teatro del Casinò of Sanremo, in the Teatro SOMS di Varese, and in the Teatro Chiabrera of Savona.

​

She has been the Ostessa in the first performance in modern times of "La secchia rapita" by J. Burgmein (G. Ricordi) conducted by M° Aldo Salvagno, at the Auditorium of Milan with the LaVerdi orchestra. This event was recorded by the Dynamic label in collaboration with the historical Ricordi archive.

She was Agnese in "I Promessi Sposi" by E. Petrella under the direction of M° Massimiliano Carraro.

​

She played the part of Maddalena in "Rigoletto" by G. Verdi under the direction of M° Marco Boemi and staged by Maria Rosaria Omaggio, in the Teatro Grande G. Menotti in Spoleto.

​

She made her debut in the role of Suzuki in "Madama Butterfly" by G. Puccini under the direction of M° Carlo Palleschi and staged by Stefano Monti, at the Teatro Grande G. Menotti in Spoleto and in the Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia.

​

In the Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto she played the role of Pericca in the intermezzo "Pericca e Varrone" by A. Scarlatti, conducted by M° Pierfrancesco Borrelli and staged by Andrea Stanisci; she also played the role of Il mezzosoprano in "Giovanni Sebastiano" by Gino Negri.

Se has actively participated in numerous Masterclasses with renowned performers and musicians such as Mariella Devia, Barbara Frittoli, Janet Perry, Donata D'Annunzio Lombardi, Marina Comparato, Roberto De Candia, Marco Boemi, Enza Ferrari, Raffaele Cortesi
